The play reflects the events that preoccupied Egyptian society at that time by mocking King Fuad I and his entourage, especially Ismail Sidky, the Prime Minister who abolished the constitution and gave the king limitless power, through Bunduq, who is forced to play the role of the royal ruler Qaraqoush, who lived in isolation from the people and didn’t imagine that anyone would challenge his will.
