Marty is struggling to finish his screenplay "Seven Psychopaths" which hosts stories about seven psychopathic characters. To help him, his friend Billy places a newspaper advertisement inviting psychopaths to call and share their stories with Marty. Billy and his partner-in-crime, Hans, also steal a Shih Tzu dog from Costello, a violent gangster and stir up the Los Angeles criminal underworld.
