In 1938, Adolf Hitler visits Rome to meet with Mussolini to outline their crazy plan to start World War II. As her children go to witness the parade celebrating this historic visit, a mother is left alone in a residential area. She discovers that she has a neighbor who did not go to this parade, and a romantic relationship develops between them.
