Two sisters, Halima and Naiema, clash after they get divorced and they accuse one another of horrific deeds.
Halima tells Naiema that her daughter is in a secret relationship, which enrages her. Their father believes that the only way out of this conflict is for Halima's children to marry Naiema's so that the two families are united by blood.
The conflict is heated and is even passed to the children as both mothers provide their children with a set of rules that only an army leader would give in a battlefield.
The children’s emotional life is an absolute mess as they are forced to break up with their lovers, and their new relationships necessitate new adjustments.
When the family experiences financial difficulty, they have to collaborate to overcome it. Meanwhile, they learn about Amina’s relationship with Mahmoud, and they decide to wed her to Gaber as soon as possible.
When Grandfather Abd El-Wahab mysteriously disappears, the family tries to find him. Suddenly a man appears at their front door, and Halima recognizes him; he is an ex-lover and the reason behind her conflict with her sister.
Soliman tells Turki that he wishes to marry one of the two sisters, and Naiema shows interest in him. Halima reminds all the family members that they have to fully depend on themselves now that their grandfather has disappeared.
Gaber learns that his father traveled abroad to get treatment as he has a fatal disease. The two sisters are still trying to find work to support their families. Amina decides to tell Hammoud about the obstacles her family is facing.
Nasser decides to divorce Gamila. Mariam tries to advise Laila on her first day at work. Meanwhile, Halima is upset to learn that she is going to be under probation and she will not receive a salary for that period. Hammoud is shocked to learn that Badr intends to marry Amina.
Amina is saddened to learn that Badr is the one who has been helping them and not Hammoud as she totally resents the idea of marrying Badr. Naiema tells Halima that the only way out of this crisis is for her to marry Soliman.
Nasser's father returns, and his return stirs many questions and reveals many facts. At night, Naiema gets her dowry from Soliman. Hammoud is totally helpless and hopeless now that his father desires to marry his beloved.
After the quarrels between the two sisters stop, understanding and calmness pervade the whole house. Gaber is sad since he failed to land a job. Hammoud desperately and sorrowfully accepts the fact that his father will marry Amina.
Nasser criticizes his mother for marrying Soliman, and his aunt tries to clarify that she did so for the good of the whole family. Amina starts getting closer to her father, and a true friendship blossoms between them.
Naiema's dreams of happiness are thwarted as problems arise between her and Soliman. Naiema tells Halima about Amina's true feelings for Hammoud.
Two deaths are reported: Abd El-Wahab's and Soliman's. The whole family mourns their loss.
Gaber tries to find out how his grandfather died. Turki is upset with his mother for not telling Naiema that Soliman left the house to charity organizations upon his death. Hammoud and his wife fight as she learns about his relationship with Amina.
Naiema is doing everything she can to ensure that she won't be disinherited. Gaber meanwhile is looking for a job to improve his family's conditions.
Hammoud is in an extreme state of anxiety fearing that his relationship with Amina will be discovered. At work, Laila is worried because her manager threatens not to promote her.
The two sisters learn that it is their nephew that should inherit the house, and they decide to buy it from him, but they don't have the money. Badr expresses his wish to break up with Amina which distresses his mother.
Family members are still at conflict over the house, but new problems occur as a visitor comes to stay with them.
As struggles and conflicts over the house intensify, all parties are fiercely fighting. Abd El-Wahab Jr. kicks his siblings out of the house. Nasser travels to Egypt.
Everything is turned upside down when Hammoud’s wife blackmails Amina with some pictures of her and Hammoud together. Things escalate as Abd El-Wahab Jr. asks Turki to sell the family house.
Hammoud consults a psychiatrist to help him regain his sanity, and she advises him to take some time to reflect on his life. Meanwhile, Gaber proves to be an outstanding TV presenter and his whole family is proud of him.
Everyone is shocked to know that grandpa Abd El-Wahab literally gave up his own children since he was unable to provide for his family. Halima does her best to support her son Gaber.
Gamila’s mother opposes the idea of her daughter’s divorce. Amina resents Gaber’s treatment of her, and she travels with her brother to India to meet their father, which enrages Naiema. Hammoud’s wife is still suspicious of her husband’s relationships.
Halima starts a new project, but her son warns her about the consequences. Hammoud asks his son to divorce Amina, and Abd El-Wahab Jr. tries to correct his mistakes and get things back to normal.
The family learns that Abd El-Wahab is a drug addict, and they get him into a rehabilitation center to recover.
Omar decides not to sell the house. Amina returns from India. Hammoud manages to overcome the terrible psychological state he has been drowning in.
Abd El-Wahab tries to come up with an idea for a project. When Halima suggests to mortgage the house, he rejects the suggestion and decides to get Hammoud's help.
Now that she is divorced, Abd El-Wahab decides to seize the opportunity and ask Gamila to marry him. Gaber marries Amina and Omar marries Laila. Naiema and Halima learn that they have shares in their father's house.
