Despite being an artist, Joury rarely gets attention merely because she's a plain woman. Meanwhile, Mansour buys Zeina's painting and opens up to her about how he lost his wife and daughter.

Joury gets upset when her flatmates decide to wed and leave her alone. Mansour starts texting Joury and she's pleased with the slightest bit of attention.

As Joury has an art gallery, Mansour visits the gallery and attempts to restore her self-confidence. Nesrine warns Joury against marrying Mansour who is way older than her. Joury rides roughshod over Nesrine's warnings and marries him anyway.

As Shahd eventually succumbs to her family's pleading and breaks up with Zaid due to their different religions, Leen tries to comfort her. Leen meets Samy and tries to set him up with Shahd.

Jawad grows jealous when he sees Shahd with Samy because he is secretly in love with her, but things take an unpleasant turn for him when Samy proposes to Shahd.

Shahd's engagement to Samy doesn't prevent her from fantasizing about Zaid. As she runs into him by accident, Zaid suggests they get married despite their parents' disapproval and she accepts and breaks up with Samy.

Ammar urges his girlfriend Lorin to dress modestly as they work together at the same restaurant. When Ammar proposes taking their relationship to the next level, Lorin stipulates that he rent a separate home as she won't live with his family.

Ammar and Lorin soon get married, but as he displays a controlling tendency over her and urges her to quit her job, she refuses and they separate.

Lorin starts working at Abu Mohammed's cafe where she's constantly harassed by him. Meanwhile, Nermine starts working with Ammar, and Lorin is shocked when Ammar proposes to Nermine.

Fou'ad struggles with his wife's negligence of him. Yara tells her parents that her colleague Khaldoun wants to marry her.

As Khaldoun proposes to Yara, her mother Fadia rejects him when she learns that his father is her former sweetheart. Fou'ad is shocked to learn that his wife had such an emotional relationship in the past.

Fou'ad grows old with Fadia as he learns of her past relationship with Sam. Fadia eventually puts her prejudices aside and accepts to wed her daughter to Khaldoun.

Shams suffers from poverty in light of her father's death and her brother Qays's futile attempts to provide for the family. Her mother, however, tries to save money for the girls' education.

When Shams's mother sees her with Mayyas, she slaps her and urges her to break up with him at once. But Mayyas threatens to break her brother Qays's contract and leave him jobless. Helpless, Shams enlists the help of their neighbor, the lawyer Hazem.

Shams and Hazem get closer and he confesses his love for her. When she suggests that they get married, however, he urges her to wait until she finishes her studies and is old enough to get married.

When Baydaa returns to the Levant after obtaining her medical certificate, she is shocked to learn that her ex-boyfriend Wa'el got married and had two kids. She is surprised when Wa'el contacts her and tells her that he doesn't love his wife.

Wa'el tells his wife Mays that he still has feelings for Baydaa; he tells Baydaa that he will divorce his wife.

When Baydaa tells her family that she wants to marry Wa'el, the family disapproves and her father threatens to disinherit her. Baydaa leaves her family and Wa'el behind and travels to Egypt alone.

Hala is appointed as an agricultural engineer and she gets to meet engineer Yacob, who is in charge. She soon develops feelings for him.

Hala opens up her own flower shop, and she proposes that Mo'atassem marry Lama. When Mo'atassem meets Yacob, he notices that he is indifferent to Hala and chances are he doesn't have feelings for her.

Mo'atassem and Lama get engaged. As Yacob invites Hala to his poetry recital event, she is shocked to learn that he has a crush on Reem.

As Malak's husband leaves her, her father Abu Hazem (Hazem's father) decides to protect Malak and her daughter Masa from the possible control of his sons Hazem and Ayman. Meanwhile, Ayham, Masa's cousin, tries to comfort her.

When Masa tells her mother about her love for Ayham, the family rejects their relationship, prompting Masa to travel to Beirut to see her father. It is revealed that Malak had stolen her wealthy husband's money for her brother's sake.

Masa meets her father who fulfills all her wishes, much to Lama's annoyance. Talal, however, perceives this to be the only chance for him to make it up to his daughter for all the struggles she had to endure.

Following her husband Wassim's death, Hanin and her baby boy struggle against Wassim's family who torments Hanin by not allowing her to live with her family or live in Wassim's house.

Ibrahim, Hanin's colleague, stands by her and suggests they get married. Hanin files a lawsuit against Umm Zuhair (Zuhair's mother) to get custody of her son.

Despite her family's objection, Hanin marries Ibrahim, and Zuhair threatens to take her son away. Umm Zuhair begs Hanin to keep young Wassim with her and she can visit him whenever she wants. Hanin eventually leads a peaceful and happy life with her husband and kids.

Lana gets upset with her husband for his obsessive jealousy and she suggests having a break to re-evaluate their relationship. Lana's aunt, Amal, makes use of the situation and tries to get Amal close to Nidal who clearly has a crush on her.

Nidal rejects Nagham and tells Lana that he loves her. Lana decides to have a divorce, for their relationship has reached a dead-end.

Widah consults a psychiatrist to save his marriage. Meanwhile, Nagham tries to drive a wedge between Nidal and Lana. Nidal eventually gives up. Widah and Lana get back together.

Safaa lives alone with her parents since her brothers left for war. As a new neighbor moves into the building, Safaa's life changes completely when he meets her and her family.

As Faisal and Safaa get close to one another, they grow enamored and eventually get engaged.

When Faisal and Safaa run the medical tests prior to their marriage, they learn they have thalassemia, and the doctor tells them the disease will prevent them from having children. They eventually break up, writing a tragic end to their love story.
