A retelling of a classic tale about a beautiful young woman named Belle who takes the place of her father who became the prisoner of a mysterious beast, only to be drawn to his kindness as she sees beyond his monstrous appearance.

Belle is the daughter of a merchant with a fading fortune. Crossing the woods with her father and siblings, they come across what seems to be a deserted castle. Belle wanted a rose her father took from the castle. The beast, the inhabitant of the castle, gives the father two options as a sentence to stealing the blossom. It's either his or his daughters lives. Pushed by guilt, Belle decides to sacrifice herself to the beast, who'll eventually fall in love with her.
