Aisha is a street vendor for clothes, who aspires to marry her educated neighbor, Tawfiq, but he does not feel the same way. After her mother dies, Aisha inherits some money and she marries the driver Ghobashi, who covets her money, while she tries to get rid of him. Years pass after she runs away, and her son grows up to discover many things that he didn't know.
