The series follows the life of the Al-Halawany family who moves to Cairo while the modern history of Egypt crystalizes. It resumes tackling the political, economic, and societal issues of that time, as well as the conflict for power and authority.


The historical drama resumes in season three, as we follow the life of Al-Halawany family who moved from Upper Egypt to Cairo at the time of the Suez Canal excavation, and the journey of Almaz and Abdu Al-Hamuli, presenting what happened in Egypt during the era of Khedive Isma'il.


The series continues to follow the different paths that the members of Al-Halawany family have taken in life, both in their private lives or their lives as dictated by their relation to the ruling caste system in Khedival Egypt.
