The story of Texas electrician Ron Woodroof and his struggle with pharmaceutical companies after he is diagnosed as HIV positive. After taking the Food and Drug Adminstration approved medication, and finding that it only increases his suffering, he decides to bring other unapproved medications from outside of the U.S, and with the support of his doctor and a fellow HIV patient, he manages to establish the Dallas Buyers Club, which set a trend among AIDS sufferers across the country. Subsequently, the FDA and other pharmaceutical companies wage war on Woodroof.
