In 1962, a Polish novice nun embarks on a journey to discover her roots after finding out that her parents were Jews as she starts to question her beliefs.
In 1960s Poland, a young orphaned Anna is preparing to become a nun in the convent where she was raised when she’s told she has a living relative. Her aunt Wanda tells her something even more shocking: she is actually Jewish, and her parents were killed along with many of Poland’s Jews during the war. Thus the two women start out on a journey to rediscover roots obscured by tragedy and trauma.
