In the wake of the president's assassination attempt, his wife Maryam tries to gain control and stop some influential statesmen from seizing control of the government as her husband slips into a coma. That brings her in conflict with some of the country's leaders who resent her involvement.

Maryam transfers her comatose husband home. She reflects on how they met when the theatrical trope celebrated their show at Hashem's place and she accompanies the producer. At the party, Omar tries to get close to Hashem's daughter as Gigi tries to flirt with his son.

Gigi dies. Maryam forces the Minister of Health to announce that the president's health is improving and that he will return to his office soon. She hints to Talaat that she wants the presidency if Hashem dies.

As Hashem's condition worsens and Maryam clashes with the Minister of Health over his care, she remembers how she took a job as Somaya's assistant at a time where Hashem and Somaya were always fighting.

When a group of youth arrange a demonstration in front of the presidential palace and demand to know the truth about the president's health condition, Maryam sits with two of them and reassures them that the president is improving. But one of Hashem's nurses takes a photo of his comatose form.

The leaked photo causes great controversy so Maryam asks to meet with the political parties to decide on a plan under her supervision. She threatens the former presidential candidate Farid Hassan. She reflects on how she secured a job with Hashem after he fired her as Somaya's assistant.

As Omar and Bahgat suspect foul play in Gigi's accident, Hashem starts to come out of his coma.

Maryam orders the Minister of Health to give Hashem stimulant drugs so he could take pictures to prove his recovery. She enlists Omar's help to take the photos and gives them to the media.

As preparations for the elections heat up, Hashem's supporters clash with Farid Hassan's supporters. When one of Farid's supporters dies, Maryam suggests that Hashem declares that he'll persecute the killer even if it's one of his supporters. Sameh argues that Hashem is abandoning his supporters.

General Talaat proposes to drop the case against Farid Hassan so he wouldn't become a local hero. Maryam tells the media that Sameh is the cause of the problem which makes Hashem appoint Maryam to his campaign. Manal meets her father for the first time when she goes looking for Noga.

Farid Hassan is proven to be behind the attack on Maryam at the hospital. Sameh is accused on inciting violence during the elections. Farid asks him to come work for him.

Hashem hallucinates during his coma and says Gehan's name which makes Maryam suspect that they are having an affair. Maryam asks her father to recruit men to work in Hashem's campaign. She suggests that Hashem change his campaign headquarters.

Maryam asks Omar to be the media spokesperson for the presidential institution. As the relationship develops between Gigi and Ramy, she asks him to marry her. As both Farid and Hashem try to find allies, Hashem's campaign headquarters is attacked by armed Islamists.

Omar meets Menna when he starts his new job. The Minister of Culture objects to Omar's hiring. Kamal tries to reconcile Hashem and Somaya. Gigi and Ramy marry in secret.

A pre-election poll leaves Hashem dissatisfied. Farid asks Maryam's mother to marry him. A televised debate sees Farid asks Hashem how he plans to control a country if he can not control his own wife who was arrested driving under influence. Hashem divorces Somaya on air.

Maryam prepares for a press conference to announce the president's recovery. Hashem wakes up and asks after Ramy and Menna. Kamal tries to see the president but Maryam stops him. Maryam provides medical equipment for the hospital in which she was attacked as a publicity stunt.

When hanged dolls with Hashem's face are hung up, Maryam takes it as a threat from Farid and confronts Sameh. Hashem meets with Kamal and Fouad. After the elections, Hashem proposes to Maryam. When Ramy objects to the marriage, Maryam threatens to expose his secret marriage to Gigi.

It's revealed that Fouad is spying for Farid Hassan. Hashem is concerned that Maryam is taking decisions in his stead. Somaya is transferred to the hospital after an overdose. Talaat tells Maryam that Gigi is alive.

Menna and Ramy inform Hashem of Somaya's hospitalization. Maryam meets Gigi who fakes amnesia to hide the information she knows about the statesmen Maryam had her watching. Hashem refuses to take back the decisions he was going to announce in the conference before the assassination attempt.

Hashem quarrels with Maryam after she releases a statement that contradicts his decisions. Maryam takes credit for his presidency and says that she did it for him. It's revealed that Akram is Farid's man. Maryam goes to visit Noga after she is hospitalized. Noga dies.

As the conflict escalates between Maryam and Hashem, he tries to curb her power and connections to statesmen. Omar takes advantage of the situation and tries to get close to Maryam. Ramy suggests that his friends of the 'Shadow group' target Maryam instead of Hashem.

When Farid Hassan is arrested for trying to assassinate the president, his supporters take to the streets and cause chaos. Maryam and Ragab discover that Amal has been marrying minor girls to foreign businessmen to fund Farid's campaign. Hashem dismisses the entire cabinet.

Ramy quarrels with his friends of the 'Shadow group'. Unbeknownst to him, Sameh is also connected to them. Bahgat tries to help Gigi regain her memories. Hashem makes Kamal Prime Minister. Ramy tells Hashem that many people think that Maryam is the one ruling the country.

Ragab tells Maryam that Ramy is connected to the 'Shadow group'. Bahgat finds the recordings that Gehan hid that reveal that Kamal wants to get rid of Hashem and that Hashem is involved with Gehan. Kamal warns Hashem that Maryam might be the one who tried to get him killed.

It's revealed that Kamal is the one who tried to have Gehan killed. Hashem dismisses Omar as media spokesman and tells him to stay away from Menna. Hashem allows Kamal to leave in the Prime Minister's convoy but Kamal's car explodes once they leave the palace.

Omar meets up with Maryam but she notices that he is recording their conversation. Hashem and Somaya meet for the first time since their divorce in Menna's birthday but Maryam crashes the party. Farid dies. Maryam sends someone to abort Manal.

Hashem attends Farid's funeral to prove he didn't have anything to do with his murder. Hashem asks the Minister of Interior to put Maryam under watch. Omar releases a statement that he was dismissed and that Kamal was killed by Hashem. Maryam arranges a car accident for Omar to frame Hashem.

Talaat tells Hashem that Maryam arranged Omar's accident. Ragab is arrested. Maryam drugs Menna and takes photos of her naked with Anas to coerce him to her side and to silence Menna's attacks against her. Omar discovers that Maryam is behind his accident.

Hashem divorces Maryam when he learns of what she did to Menna. Maryam has Bahgat committed to a mental institution. Amal learns that Sameh is the one who killed Farid. Maryam hires an assassin to kill Ramy. Talaat leaks the details of Hashem's relationship with Gehan to the media.

It's revealed that Maryam is the one who tried to have Hashem killed. Sameh attacks Maryam after she has Ramy killed but Maryam poisons him. Maryam is assassinated in a press conference to announce her new political party.
