In a cold city with few happenings, Arthur, a high school student, bonds with Annie, his former babysitter, who is separated from her suicidal alcoholic husband, Glenn. In the meantime, Arthur starts to become closer to Lila, the new student. All of their lives get out of control when Annie's daughter goes missing.
