Journalist Wahid is imprisoned for joining Medhat, an anti-government activist, and decides to cooperate with Rushdi, the political officer. Nawal, the daughter of an aristocratic family, gets engaged to Hossam.
Wahid is assigned to cover events concerning Samira's aristocratic family. Farid declares his love for Samira, without getting a response, and he gets involved in a car accident. After Nawal loses her foot, Hossam breaks off their engagement.
Abdel Fattah and Medhat fail to kill Wahid and are arrested. Nawal collapses after Hossam breaks off their engagement. Fathi sends a notice to retrieve his money from the Wehbe family after Samira rejects him.
Nawal is devastated following her mother's death; Wahid gets a promotion; Fathi is still trying to get closer to Samira, while Wahid seeks to get closer to Nawal.
The case of Medhat and Abdel Fattah is postponed; Samira marries Fathi due to her financial hardship; Wahid convinces Nawal to marry him.
Farid asks Wahid to manage the factory, while Nawal sees the latter's control over the workers. Medhat and Abdel Fattah are released. Zizi declares her love for Wahid.
Wahid is surprised by Nawal's pregnancy. Samira breaks up with Fathi. After Wahid drives a wedge between Farid and Nawal, Farid liquidates his factory in favor of his sister, under Wahid's management.
Samira sells her land due to debts. After Zizi asks Rushdi to stay away from her, he uses his connections to get her arrested. Nawal remains in critical condition after giving birth to her daughter.
As Wahid is haunted by Medhat's ghost, he takes advantage of Nawal's illness to get close to Samira, whom he confesses his love to, and obtains her land. Wahid is surprised by Nawal's death.
Medhat is arrested on charges of joining the Cairo Fire group. Wahid and Samira get married and settle abroad, upon which his lands are seized. Rushdi is removed from his position.
The new government comes between Medhat and Abdel Fattah. Reem tries to communicate with her father. Wahid returns to demand guardianship over Reem and his right to Nawal’s inheritance.
Abdel Fattah is arrested after Medhat's report against him. Wahid suspects that Samira and Farid are in a relationship, while he seeks to prove his loyalty to the new government.
Wahid is appointed at the Faculty of Arts thanks to Medhat, who got a sensitive position in the state. Wahid tries to get closer to his student Sawsan in order to get closer to her father, who holds a sensitive position.
Wahid divorces Samira, after which Farid marries her. As Medhat removes Wahid from his position, the latter is forced to give up his share of the land to Farid.
