‘His Own Boss’ is based on the play ‘Smoke’ by Mikhail Roman. The story revolves around Hamdi, a cultured young man with a degree in philosophy. Hamdi is a role model for his brother and sister until his life is disrupted when he discovers that his university degree is not as valuable as he thought. The shock of this revelation leaves Hamdi disillusioned and pessimistic about his future prospects.
