This film is based on the true story of a New York teenager Jim Carrol (Leonardo DiCaprio), who dreams of becoming a basketball star. Despite his promising talent, Jim’s life begins to spiral out of control when he gets involved with a street gang and starts using drugs. When he loses a friend to cancer, his life falls further into an abyss and his friendship with Reggie becomes his only hope for escaping a life of addiction and crime.
