In 1906 Vienna, Franz Lobheiner's affair with the married Baroness von Eggersdorf comes to an end when he falls for young Christine. But as Baron von Eggerdorf learns about the affair, he challenges Lobheiner to a duel, unaware that the latter no longer wants anything to do with his wife.
