Thoraya reflects on how she met her husband for the first time and wed him against her family's wishes. However, their marriage didn't last and she sought a divorce despite having two sons with him. She took another husband, an American orientalist, whom she had two daughters with.

Thoraya gets a surprising call from her sister Mariam, which restores their relationship that was cut off under pressure from their mother. Mariam asks Thoraya to mend the bridges between them.

Thoraya is shocked when her son, Darar, decides to wed his cousin, Madawy, without consulting her. Madawy is distressed that her parents are forcing her into that marriage.

Talal confesses his feelings for Saba. As Darar and Madawy's engagement party is held at Jabr's house, Darar apologizes to his mother for not inviting her to the party. Mariam's mother refuses to allow Thoraya back into the family's life

When Sina tells Ghassan to ask for her hand, Ghassan refuses because of their young age. Ghassan talks to his mother about the matter, but she rebukes him. Ali and his sisters attend a concert with Darar and Madawy, who ridicules them for not having the Kuwaiti nationality.

Saleh asks Sohaila to wed him in secret. Saba dates Talal behind her mother's back. Ali falls for his college classmate.

When Safiya discovers that her husband took another wife, she demands a divorce. Talal tells Saba that he wants to officially propose to her. Thoraya throws an engagement party for Darar at her house.

Thoraya tells her children about the reason her family cut off ties with her. Madawy considers going with Darar abroad to pursue their education, but Darar refuses and bids her and his mother farewell before traveling.

Madawy meets her friend Aziz repeatedly behind her father and Darar's backs. Joud gets close to her classmate, Ali.

Saba informs Talal that she got a scholarship. Serene applies to be Jabr's secretary. Thoraya meets her mother, but she prevents her from talking to her. Sohaila and Saleh wed.

When Ali informs his mother that he wants to go to the US to complete his studies, she suggests that he go to Egypt, but he refuses. Thoraya visits Jabr to get a part of her inheritance, but Jabr refuses to see her and gives her a small sum of money.

Madawy tells Aziz to propose to her as she plans on leaving Darar. Saba goes to the US. Madawy's mother talks to Jabr's mother about the change in how she treats her.

As Ali gets fed up with staying with his father Yehia in Egypt, he goes back to Kuwait. Thoraya prepares for her new job at a TV channel. Saba meets her roommate, Rawan.

When Thoraya presents her new TV show, her mother grows wroth when she watches the show. Jabr gets involved with his secretary, Serene. Saba grows fearful of being in the US on her own so she returns to Kuwait.

When Talal asks for Saba's hand, Thoraya asks them to postpone their marriage, which makes Saba upset. Saba gets depressed and gets admitted to the hospital. As Darar returns from his travels, Madawy decides to tell her father that she wants to break off their engagement.

Thoraya approves Talal and Saba's marriage. When Ali sees Madawy with Aziz, Aziz grows concerned that Ali will tell Darar. Serene asks Jabr to go public with their relationship.

Saba and Talal travel abroad after their marriage. When Joud asks Ali to propose to her, Ali tries to get Thoraya's blessings. Darar asks Madawy to give him a chance to get close to her.

Darar tries to change the way he looks and speaks to satisfy Madawy. Ali weds Joud. Jabr breaks things off with Serene when he learns of her greed.

Saba grows upset with Talal for his treatment of her and his constant jealousy. Joud informs Ali that she is pregnant. Jabr returns to his wife, Nawara, and decides to travel with her. Darar confronts Madawy about her relationship with Aziz, but she denies everything.

Darar runs over Ragaa, who is rushed to the hospital. Jabr asks Safiya to return to the house to look after his mother. When Thoraya's show gets pulled off air, she confronts her brother and accuses him of causing the cancellation of her show.

As Talal's suspicion of Saba escalates, Saba grows distressed. Sohaila wants to have a child, but Saleh refuses her request. As Madawy tries to break things off with Aziz, Darar confronts her with the messages he found on her phone and decides to end their engagement.

As Thoraya tells Ali that she wants Saba to get a divorce, she refuses to approve Ghassan and Sina's marriage. Mariam informs her husband that she is pregnant. Saba considers staying with Talal after she learns of her pregnancy. Ali discovers that Joud is adopted.

Darar asks Madawy to treat his mother and siblings well. Mariam's husband discovers that she has a sister. Saba gives birth. Talal's mother informs Thoraya that Talal has a psychological condition. Sohaila has a daughter. Madawy weds Darar. Thoraya's mother forgives Thoraya.
