Sura meets Seyit, a Turkish lieutenant, at the first formal dance they attend together. Sura’s father is a partner of the Borinsky family, and their son, Petro, is older than Seyit and is his colleague in the military. Petro leaves the army for a reason unknown to everyone except Seyit and joins his father’s business, a secret that causes tension in their friendship.
