Set in London during the reign of Charles II; the Duke of Brampton takes advantage of the King's trust and tries to get ahead by having noblemen executed for treason, then seizing part of their estates, but he finds himself in a difficult situation when the notebook, in which he keeps a list of the noblemen he is targeting, gets stolen.
