Based on William Shakespeare's play Hamlet, Haider (Shahid Kapoor) returns to his hometown in Kashmir after receiving news of his father's disappearance. He then discovers the relationship between his mother and uncle. Over time he learns that his uncle is primarily responsible for his father's murder, prompting him to avenge his father.
