Souad suffers from loneliness and the neglect of her children. Her daughter Olfat is busy with her husband, while her son Amgad is trying to check her in a nursing home according to the suggestion of his American wife. She asks Rizk, the telephone operator whom she met by chance, to check on her by phone so that she does not live alone.
