Nour comes across her father Zaki's memoirs where he wrote about the days preceding his departure from Egypt. Moving to Egypt, Ibrahim quarrels with his brother Tarek over the way he behaves with their father, especially following the Egyptian revolution of 2011.
Nour reaches the part where her father was being investigated by the Military Police, and she learns that her friends Nicholas and Jardina pose a threat to her life and safety.
The Salafist-incited violence in Egypt magnifies simultaneously with Nour's decision to visit Egypt to conduct one of her researches. Farouk throws a birthday party for Amina.
Officer Ibrahim is assigned to Nour's case for she is suspected to be affiliated to a spy network. Nour returns to her apartment at Daher area and she meets with her neighbor Azhar who asks her to stay at her apartment so no one would know she is Jewish.
Azhar takes Nour to the house of Koren, the landlady of the building where Zaki's rented apartment is. Salma gets expelled from the newspaper for writing an article condemning the Muslim Brotherhood.
Ibrahim advises Salma to hang in there and bear her adversity with patience and determination. Nour buys Ibrahim a new phone instead of the one she has ruined. She also gets in touch with Farouk who will help her with the research.
Following the parents' separation, it is decided that Ibrahim's son is to stay with his father. Koren communicates to Farouk her suspicion that his wife might be cheating on him. Farouk, meanwhile, resumes his efforts to provide Nour with the information she needs.

Nihcolas finds Nour in Alexandria and follows her to learn where she lives. Ibrahim manages to run away before Nicholas sees him, the thing that causes a misunderstanding between him and Nour.
Nihcolas holds a meeting with Tarek and his other colleagues in the party, then he manages to find Nour and tries to approach her. Meanwhile, Ibrahim's boss tells him they will expose the spy network through Nour.

Ibrahim and Nour meet Jardina and Nicholas, and both parties pretend they don't know each other. Ibrahim's boss wants him to recruit Nour. Following the court hearing, Ibrahim shows sympathy to the Jews, and that strikes as an unpleasant surprise.
Halim's boss tells him there is a double agent at the office. Jardina tells Ibrahim that Heidi, one of the double agents, was murdered. Ibrahim urges Nour to get closer to Halim and Nicholas to learn what they are up to.
In the wake of the sit-ins that have spread across the country in opposition to the Muslim Brotherhood, Nicholas urges Tarek and his associates to defend the legitimacy of the brotherhood.
Ibrahim receives a piece of news from Jardina, and he shortly communicates it to Tarek to warn him of a possible sit-in. Tarek reveals shocking information about Ibrahim and his father to Nicholas and Jardina. Nour decides to return to France.
Nour travels to France. Jardina and Nicholas are arrested. The June 2013 Egyptian protests break out. Ibrahim is martyred.
