The play reviews the life of Adham El Sharkawy from the time of his uncle’s murder, through the political events that Egypt witnessed in that period until his death. He started out as a criminal, stealing from the rich with his uncle and giving part of the loot to the poor. Then he became a freedom fighter resisting the occupation as he recalled the words of his father, a sheikh from Al-Azhar.
