In 1920, Chuck Arnold, the leader of a show group, meets one of the group's dancers, named Peggy Mayhew. They fall in love with each other, and the next day they get married. Although she loves him, life gets difficult, and it becomes more difficult as the days pass. However, in 1929, when the Depression began, life became almost impossible for both of them.
