Dr. Anis starts his new job at Dar Al-Ghezlan. Monaya is saddened that she is unable to wed her sweetheart unless her sister Karima gets married first, but Karima doesn't want to get married at all. Karima quarrels with her father over her rejection of her suitor.
Anis is dissatisfied with the clinic and its conditions. When one of his patients, Zeinab, tries to get close to Anis, he tries to keep his distance. Karima tries to convince the women that they don't need men in their lives. Amina tries to curtail Karima's plans.
Al-Bahy tries to shut down Karima's workplace for not having a permit. Anis tries to resign, but Al-Bahy doesn't let him. When Al-Bahy falls ill, Anis arrives to check on him, only for him to offer for Anis to marry Karima in exchange for a transfer to Casablanca. Ghada starts working in Amina's house.
Amina arrives at the clinic, claiming to be ill but she is actually faking it. When Anis proposes to Karima, her father agrees despite her refusal. Ismail and Amina's son returns home after his father falls ill. When his mother suggests that he runs for elections, he refuses.
As a pandemic spreads in the region, the people try to pinpoint its origins. Monaya tries to kill herself, but Anis saves her. Ismail gets ready for the elections with Amina's help. Anis asks Karima to marry him so that he could be transferred to Casablanca.
As Anis meets Karima, he tries to convince her to agree to wed him. Karima appreciates that Anis has saved her sister's life. Anis returns home, filled with sadness over being stuck in Dar Al-Ghezlan.
Reda discovers that his father is having an affair with the maid Dawya, prompting his father to recount how he was involved with her before he wed Amina. Youssef carries out a relationship with both Monaya and the seamstress at the same time. Karima takes Anis into the forest and ties him up.
Reda falls for Monaya. Idris goes looking for Anis in the forest. Karima unties Anis and agrees to marry him. Amina is upset with her son when it looks like Al-Bahy will win the elections. Amina questions Anis on why he didn't invite his family to his marriage ceremony to Karima.
As Amina's domineering attitude turns Ismail off, she quarrels with him over his distance. As Karima and Anis wed, she starts to like him. Ismail falls ill and enlists Anis's help. The competition between Al-Bahy and Ismail heats up with the elections upon them.
Ismail proposes to Dawya and takes her to his parents' house to live there. Monaya agrees to marry Youssef. When Youssef and Reda quarrel, Nabila interferes and gets stabbed by mistake. Karima accuses Anis of beating her, getting him imprisoned.
As Karima drops the charges, Anis is released but he is furious that she questioned his manhood in front of the police. Monaya tells the maid that she slept with Youssef, who is also involved with the seamstress. Nabila confesses her love for Reda, who rebuffs her.
Al-Bahy is furious when he learns that Monaya is involved with Youssef, admonishing his daughter as the news spreads about the relationship. Youssef brings over a government official to wed Monaya, but she runs away. Karima gets a skin disease.
Monaya hides at Reda's place and tells him her story with Youssef. Karima and Anis consummate their marriage after the former confesses her love. When Idris passes away, Anis steps in to care for his wife and his daughter, Zeinab. Ismail wins the elections. Anis's transfer to Casablanca is approved.
The father of Dawya's children takes them, and Amina gives him money so that he doesn't give them back. Youssef learns of Monaya's location and proposes to her, but she refuses him. Amina refuses Reda's wish to wed Monaya. Amina learns of Ismail and Dawya's marriage. Anis returns to his wife.
