Lisa needs to follow her violent husband Robert's instructions and collect his life insurance payout after he surreptitiously escapes an aircraft disaster to be liberated from his grasp.

Lisa, an Italian woman, quarrels with her American husband, Robert, and asks for a divorce. Robert travels and his plane crashes, but he survives and wants to hide to cash out the insurance. Lisa agrees to help him in exchange for a divorce. Lisa has a relationship with her journalist friend, David, and cashes out the insurance, hands it over to her husband, and takes him to the Belgian border.
