A young lawyer, Nader Mostafa, is accused of kidnapping and murdering 4 women including a retired singer. The news spreads as the anchorwoman Nehal sheds light on the incident, but the police cannot arrest Nader since it's not confirmed that he is the perpetrator.
Major General Adel investigates Nader, but with the lack of any evidence against him, the case is made even more complicated. A flashback to three years ago reveals Nader's encounter with Hanin who saved him from being robbed.
Nader and Hanin cross paths again as he coincidentally visits the restaurant where she works and a spark of love is ignited between the two, the thing that enrages the restaurant owner and Nader's cousin who has feelings for him.
As Nader and Hanin get closer, she reveals to him that she is of unknown descent and she was raised in an orphanage. When Nader is overcome with shock, Hanin believes he's looking for an excuse out of the relationship. Adel urges his son-in-law to divorce his daughter when he severely beats her.
Hanin's revelation and her absence from work make Nader dazzled and confused, but he eventually makes up his mind to marry her. After many attempts to persuade his mother of the match, she unenthusiastically agrees to meet Hanin.
Nader's mother and Shaker meet Hanin and the mother reluctantly approves the marriage. Nader and Hanin spend their honeymoon at home befroe he returns to work. At work, one of Nader's colleagues vows revenge and steals a document from Nader's file to give to his rivals, which gets Nader fired.
Nader tries to find another office to work in, but all his attempts are unsuccessful and he eventually works at a carpentry workshop where he makes wooden ornaments. Nader and Hanin consider having children, but they're saddened when the doctor tells them they can't have children.
Nader and Hanin resort to in vitro fertilization and Hanin gets pregnant. When she goes to tell him the good news, she doesn't find him at work and his boss tries to assault her, only for Nader to hit him. Nader is arrested and his mother hires a lawyer to defend him in the absence of witnesses.
Nader is sentenced to one year in prison, and Hanin has to work to support herself. Hanin asks her colleague at the orphanage, Ashraf, for money for her operation. While surfing a porn site, Ashraf learns of the nature of his business with Nesrine. Adel's daughter wakes up and starts therapy.
Nader's relationship with Ragab, a fellow inmate, strengthens. Hanin visits Nader in prison. Ashraf cannot make up his mind regarding his prostitution business, especially when Hossam offers him double the money he was earning before. Adel and his daughter go on a vacation.
Ashraf asks for Hanin's advice on how to escape the gang's illegal activity. When Nesrine and Hossam learn that Hanin knows, they murder Ashraf and Hanin, undress them, and film them naked in bed together to remove any suspicion of foul play.
Nader learns of what happened to his wife from Nehal Mofid's show. He is overcome with grief and his health detriorates. Meanwhile, Nehal's show gains increasing popularity and gets a new sponsor who turns out to be her ex-lover who mistreated her in the past.
Nehal investigates the commercial projects of her ex-husband Amjad Al-Shamy who is now her official sponsor. Nader is discharged from the hospital and returns to prison. His mother visits him, tells him that she is going to move out, and calls him a fool for believing in Hanin's innocence.
Ragab reveals to Nader the crime that landed him to prison; he discovered that his wife was cheating on him and murdered her lover. Nader is released and heads to their old apartment to find Hanin's journal and her jewelry.
Nader reads his late wife's journals and learns of her struggle as well as the secret that cost her her life. Lacking tangible evidence against Hossam and Nesrine, Nader monitors them. To move on with his life, he borrows money from his mother to open up a project.
Nader gets the case file along with the evidence. He watches the surveillance camera tapes and learns who the perpetrators are. Nader monitors an employee who works for Hossam, plots for a 'coincidental' encounter with her to get the keys and sneak into the company.
Nader gathers the information that makes him sufficiently acquainted with the gang's business and manages to escape from the company. He also recruits the ambulance driver who takes the girls out of the orphanage.
Nader monitors Hashem, Hossam's partner, who is responsible for getting the passports for the girls and smuggling them out of the country. He also watches his daughter Rasha, picks her up from school, and tells her that her father had an accident. He puts sedatives in her juice.
Nader kills Rasha, Hashem's daughter, and sends the picture to the parents who report it to the police. Nader moves on to the next victim, the daughter of the doctor who forges the death certificates for the girls before they're smuggled out of Egypt. He kills her and sends the picture to the police.
Adel wonders why the picture of the second victim was sent to him but fails to find the link between the two murders. Seeing that the police have failed to solve the mystery, Nader moves on to the third victim. An old feud between Nader and his aunt's husband ends when Nader saves the latter.
The third murder following Nader's pattern occurs, but the perpetrator isn't Nader; it is a man who wanted to inherit his wife. The police search for the ripper who has committed the three murders, and that's when Nader calls Adel and tells him that the third crime isn't connected to the first two.
Nader's third victim is Doha whom he kills and sends the picture to the police. Hamdy, Doha's brother, intends to meet Hashem to learn what is going on. Meanwhile, Nader follows with the fourth victim, singer Azza Kamel, Nesrine's mother.
Nader meets Azza Kamal and gives her a wine bottle with sedatives in it. He kills her and sends the picture to her daughter Nesrine. Hamdy and Hashem try to solve the mystery, and Hossam promises to avenge the death of Hamdy's sister and Hashem's daughter.
The police interrogate Nesrine regarding her mother's death and Nesrine meets Mohiey and tells him the recent updates. Hossam insists that the crimes aren't related, and both Nesrine and Moheiy turn against Hossam, making Nader's work even more easier.
Nader leaks a photo of him with Azza Kamal, and the surveillance cameras show him with Doha right before her disappearance. He heads to the graveyard where Hanin is buried and turns on the GPS for the police to find him. Nader is arrested.
In the absence of the victims' corpses and the lack of tangible evidence, Adel cannot prove Nader's involvement and gets trapped into a vicious circle of possibilities. Mohiey, Nesrine, Hashem, and Hossam decide to join forces to find the perpetrator.
The police find the tip of the iceberg when they realize that Ashraf, who was murdered with Hanin, worked at Nesrine's orphanage. Adel has Nesrine and the other victims' families monitored. While interrogating Nader, Adel receives an envelope with a picture of the fifth victim.
The fifth victim turns out to be Marwa, Hossam's wife. And since the picture was sent while Nader was in prison, he is released for the lack of evidence against him. Adel summons Mohiey, Nesrine, Hashem, and Hossam, and urges them to confess what it is they have in common.
Hossam meets his boss who turns out to be Amjad Al-Shamy. Amjad kidnaps Nehal's daughter, Farida, unaware that she is his daughter too.
Nader asks Nehal to be his intermediary with Amjad Al-Shamy and the police. When Nader goes to meet Amjad, the latter locks him up, but the police raid the place and arrest Amjad. Nader divulges the truth, the culprits are arrested, and the five victims turn out to be alive and well.
