The teenage Karla is impregnated by Serge Miller out of wedlock, and when Serge refuses to recognize the baby as his own, Karla is forced to leave town. Years later, she comes back as a wealthy woman, which delights the townsfolk, that is until they learn the real reason behind her visit.
