Mahmoud and Salwa are thinking about getting a new chef. Mahmoud decides to publish an ad in the newspapers with the special requirements, and the chef, Fathih, shows up for the job.
Rab'ei fails in his Arabic language test, and Mahmoud brings a tutor to his son behind Rab'ei’s grandpa back. Chef Fathih tells Rab'ei's grandpa about the tutor.
Grandpa Rab'ei decides to fire the tutor who's teaching his grandson. A new resident comes to the building, and he is being friendly with the people to get their votes in the People's Assembly elections.
Mahmoud's neighbor, Ma'moun, fails in the People's Assembly elections, but he is subsequently appointed as a minister. As he imposes a set of strict measures on everyone, they get mad at him.
Salwa's sister complains to her that Mahmoud is stressing her husband at work, which reduces the time he spends with her. The doctor tells Grandpa Rab'ei that his wife is pregnant, the thing that drives Mahmoud angry.
To pressure his father into getting his wife to abort, Mahmoud claims to have an illness that makes him revisit his past childhood. The doctor tells everyone that the pregnancy is false, leaving them in shock.
Mahmoud prepares for Eid Al-Adha and decides to buy a sheep to be slaughtered as a sacrifice. Samy's wife persuades him to buy a sheep. Mahmoud and Samy fall into a trap after the man sells them the same sheep without each of them knowing about it.
The Students' supervisor, Niyazi, complains to Mahmoud that his daughter Hala insults him on the pages of social networking sites. Mahmoud decides to try to reconcile them and urges them to accept the opinions of the other, however different.
As his wife persuades him, grandpa Rab'ei decides to sell the building and open a center for private lessons in its stead. Mahmoud gets angry when he finds out and gathers his children and tells them. He decides to stall the sale with a smart plan.
Grandpa Rab'ei discovers that his son Mahmoud foiled his sale of the building after he agreed with a man to drive the buyer away. Mahmoud and Salwa discover that their son has been absent from physics lessons, and that he's in a relationship with a girl.
Salwa is angry at her son Hatem because of his skipping his physics lessons and his relationship with his classmate. Salma's mother tells Mahmoud that she knows about Salma and Hatem's friendship and that she does not want them to get engaged because they're still young.
Salwa hosts a herbalist in her program "My Dad, Mum and Me" who criticizes the work of dermatologists, and everyone goes to him after the episode to seek treatment from diseases that they suffer from. They eventually discover that he is incompetent.
Rab'ei Jr. gets sick because he does not care about his personal hygiene, and the doctor gets upset after he discovers that his family doesn't care about his cleanliness. They agree on a rule that whoever does not keep his room clean will have his clothes thrown out the window.
Mahmoud and his family return from the trip with Rifa'at, Salwa's manager at work. Salwa finds a strange movement at home and finds that a piece of her jewelry is missing.
Mahmoud's children discover a prescription on the ground and go to the doctor who tells them that it belongs to a sick girl who needs an operation. Mahmoud's children decide not to tell their father and help the girl.
Hatem tells his father that he wants to go on a school trip and he agrees, then Hala tells her parents that she wants to travel on a college trip, but they refuse. However, they eventually agree after the grandpa pressures them, but the trip gets canceled.
Hatem asks his parents to let him sing, but his father rejects the matter altogether, so Hatem tells him that he signed a contract and if he does not sing he will pay a large penalty clause.
Rab'ei Jr. persuades his father Mahmoud to go to pray Fajr with him in the mosque in order to protect him from street dogs. Mahmoud discovers that his son came up with an excuse to pray with him, and persuades everyone to go to pray in the mosque.
Grandpa Rab'ei’s lawyer tells him that the tax authority will confiscate the building if he does not pay the tax debts, and Rab'ei is forced to put the building for sale. The resident, Ma'moun decides to buy the building but the residents stand up to him.
Mahmoud proposes to his father to sell the two adjacent apartments to pay off the debts that he owes to the tax authority. A dancer wants to buy the two apartments from Rab'ei, but Mahmoud decides to buy his apartment and give the money to his father to pay off his debts.
A journalist tells Salwa that her children nominated her to be the ideal mother. Salwa's mother gets jealous and decides to compete against her. The men of the building are angry about the ideal mother event.
The men of the building gather to demand an ideal father day, and they pass the matter to the highest levels but their request is rejected. Salwa's mother earns the title of the ideal mother after Salwa gives her the vote.
Hala tells her father that she is confused between studying criminal law herself or resort to private lessons, and Mahmoud advises her to pray Estikhara prayer (prayer for guidance) and she asks him how to pray it.
When Sahar's husband tell her he had a dream in which he betrayed her, Sahar punishes him and he tells Mahmoud. Sahar tells her sister Salwa about the matter and Salwa suspects her husband. Salwa buys a device that follows dream patterns to learn what her husband dreams of and punish him.
The doorman tells Mahmoud about the huge increase in electricity, water, gas, and telephone bills, and Mahmoud decides to take austerity measures to control the situation.
Hatem asks his father to learn to drive, and his father is forced to find a way to facilitate the procedures for obtaining a driver's license. Rifa'at, Salwa’s manager, wants her to train his relative at work by cronyism. Hatem fails the driving test.
Salwa finds out that her son Hatem turns to a man named Abdo Bershama that gives him a cheat sheet for his high school exams. Salwa and Mahmoud are very angry with Hatem, and Grandpa Rab'ei beats his grandson because of the matter and then he reports Bershama.
A large number of high school kids are trying to break into grandpa Rab'ei's building in order to teach him a lesson after he reported Bershama to the police, but the doorman stops them from entering. Mahmoud denies that Samy helped him with his new invention.
The high school students beat Mahmoud and break his leg. Samy assists Mahmoud’s family at the time of his illness, and the patients thank Samy for helping them at the time of Dr. Mahmoud’s absence and they badmouth Mahmoud.
Mahmoud holds a press conference to announce the success of his invention in treating vitiligo without mentioning Samy's name. Everyone presses Dr. Mahmoud to admit Samy’s help in his invention, and in the end, Mahmoud acknowledges his help in 'My Dad, Mum and Me' show.
