When Faten marries Mounir in secret, she is shocked when her brother Samra tells her Mounir was an out-of-wedlock child. Mounir commits suicide. As it was believed Rashed died at war, Kholdia marries Adham, only for Rashed to get infuriated when he returns and receives the news.
When So'aad comes to the khan (an inn for travelers), Abu Rashed (Rashed's father) sympathizes with her story and helps her. Rashed tells his father that Al-Mokhtar is devising a plot.
Abu Rashed assures So'aad that her father shall be released within two months. Adlia incites her husband against her father whom he kills and steals his gold; Adlia does her best to save her husband.
Following Rashed's threats, Umm Adham (Adham's mother) plots to get rid of her daughter-in-law Kholdia. Sayeda tells Abu Rashed that Shafiq Agha bought her; she is no longer his wife, and Abu Rashed sends her out of the khan.
Fawzy is upset that his father's café is still closed. When Umm Adham learns that Kholdia is pregnant, she attempts to get rid of the baby. When Fou'ad tells Abu Rashed that his friend seized his house, Abu Rashed helps Fou'ad and his family get their house back.
After quarreling with Abu Tahoun and believing him to be dead, Azzam and his wife Jamila move to the khan, only for Abu Diab and Saleh to harass Jamila. When Azzam learns Abu Tahoun is still alive, he leaves the khan.
Shoukry and his wives move to the khan to consult the midwife Umm M'arouf about his wives' inability to conceive children, and when he's told he is sterile, he decides to break up with his wives.
Due to the very unstable life Hamd and his wife led with the tribe, they eventually move to the khan. Abu Karem files a complaint against Rashed. So'aad rejoices when she learns Umm Rashed (Rashed's mother) wants her to wed her son Rashed.
Zahriya is mad when what she entrusted her husband with goes missing, and her brother Rebhy suggests helping her if she gives up her share in the inheritance. She soon learns her brother intended to deceive her to gamble with the money.
Abu Ramzy asks Abu Adham to work with him in the khan since his children abandoned him. Abu Diab incites Adham against Rashed.
To avenge the incident of his son Rashed being attacked, Abu Rashed kicks Fawzy and his father out of the khan. Adham severely beats Kholdia up that she loses her baby, and Abu Karem files a complaint against Adham.
The khan shelters a man who ran away in a clear rejection of his father's wish to wed him his cousin. When the father decides to have his son punished, Abu Rashed tries to reconcile them.
Abu Khaled is released and he tells Abu Rashed that Abu Seyah was mistakenly murdered, after Sabry's brother kicked him and his wife Sa'adiya out, claiming that their father left all his fortune to one son. Abu Rashed interferes to solve the issue.
Kholdia misses Adham and wishes she would get back with him. When Fayez and Hany learn that Abu Khaled is released, they murder him to avenge Abu Seyah's death.
Narjes accuses her husband Fayad of stealing the money, but it is his brother who stole it. Upon her request, Fayad divorces her. Sobhy refuses to divulge to Abu Rashed the place of the gold.
Fawzy asks Abu Rashed to take Nawal back as his wife. Adham refuses to get back with Kholdia. Ramzy is shocked to learn that Bouran has gone blind, and Aida is accused.
Rashed attacks Salem for badmouthing him. When their stepmother turns their life into a hell, Shokrya and her sister Ramzya move to the khan. However, when the truth is revealed to their father, he divorces his wife and stands by his daughters.
Abu Karem and Abu Adham decide to take revenge on Abu Rashed and have the khan closed down. So'aad turns Sobhy's marriage proposal down. Selim refuses to enlist his name for voluntary recruitment in the army in order not to leave his mother and sister.
Abu Ra'ad and his wife Madiha visit the khan to see So'aad and learn if she knows where the gold is. When So'aad reveals she has no idea what they're talking about, it is suggested that Sobhy marry So'aad to better interrogate her.
Jawad and Nazmy stay at the khan in anticipation of Jawad's travel to Palestine. Nazmy steals Jawad's money and turns him in for murdering Abu Al-Leil. When Jawad is arrested, he confesses that he killed the man to defend a lady Abu Al-Leil assaulted.
Abu Karem is arrested for giving people spoiled oil, and it turns out that Abu Adham plotted for this. Yasmin refuses to marry the man her family chose for her and runs away. Sobhy and Abu Diab intend to steal Abu Khaled's gold.
Adham and Kholdia separate. Abu Rashed suggests his son marry So'aad or otherwise she'll return with her uncle. Abu Karem accuses Abu Adham of spreading rumors that Rashed is dead. Sobhy and Abu Diab's plan to steal the gold is thwarted.
Abu Adham learns that Abu Rashed intends to remove him from office. Mo'ataz tells Captain Poland that Shaher killed his brother when the latter refused to give him his inheritance, but it turns out that Mo'ataz is Shaher in disguise. Abu Fawzy asks Abu Karem for Kholdia's hand for his son.
Marzouq and Shimaa move to the khan, claiming that Marzouq is mute in order to swindle Abu Rashed, but Marzouq's ex-wife, Nagia, exposes him. Umm Rashed suggests that her son marries So'aad.
Abu Adham tries his best to preserve his position. Fed up with his mother's quarrels with his wife, Gadwat leaves his mother at the khan, and his sister Hayat reprimands him and takes her mother in.
Rashed asks his mother for more time to consider marriage. Abu Adham bribes Captain Poland in order to secure his position. Mowafaq and Abu Jabry quarrel as the latter seizes the former's fortune, and Abu Rashed mediates to reconcile them and return Mowafaq's rights
Nayed and Rady quarrel, and the latter's brother, Sifo, files a complaint against Nayef. Nazem Bey, Nayef's father, asks his son to apologize to Rady and solve things amicably, but it's too late; Sifo murders Nayef.
Rashed and So'aad get married. Mourad wants to buy the khan, which Abu Rashed refuses as they find a document revealing that Wagdy isn't Mourad's relative.
Abu Diab testifies against Sobhy, and Sobhy reveals where the gold is. Abu Rashed tells So'aad about her inheritance. Kholdia marries Fawzy. Abu Rashed is chosen mayor to the neighborhood.
Abu Rashed's new position reveals that Abu Adham was a fraud who abused his authority and he gets arrested. Adham reconciles with Rashed and his father.
The policeman Tarek is arrested. Adham sells his father's property to return the money to the people of the neighborhood. Nawal, Abu Rashed's daughter, weds Saleh.
