The wealthy Abdul Salam proposes to the teenager Mito and they get engaged despite Salem and Rawya’s objection. While Abdul Salam and Mito are in a casino, she admires Dr. Hashem Abdul Latif. Mito starts pursuing Hashem as she calls him on the phone and visits his clinic while Abdul Salam is away.

As Mito and Hashem fall in love, she notices his unwillingness to marry. When she tells him that she's engaged, they quarrel. As Mito weds Abdul Salam and lives in Suez with her mother-in-law, she regrets her marriage. As Mito gets pregnant with Abdul Salam's baby, she runs away to Hashem's house.

Hashem refuses to stand with Mito and leaves her at his house because of the rain. When Abdul Salam brings Hashem to treat Mito, she rebuffs him. Abdul Salam divorces Mito upon her insistence. As Mito gives birth to a girl, Hashem and Abdul Salam come to visit her.

Abdul Salam asks Mito to look after their daughter Hoda. As Hashem treats the patient Nagwa, she tells him that she is adopted and he learns that she has Rheumatic heart disease. After Mito realizes that Hashem won't marry her, she decides to marry someone else.

As Hashem hides Nagwa's illness from her, she tells him about her love for Adel who was rejected by her family. Abdul Fattah visits Nagwa and brings her gifts. As Hashem tells Mito that her feelings are only an illusion, she gets engaged to Hassan.

As Mito's engagement is called off, Shafiq kicks her out, so she goes to her father's house. As Mito tries to kill herself, her father gets close to her. When Hashem and Mito go to a casino, Abdul Fattah takes pictures of them and smears them in the papers. Hashem tells Mito that he's marrying Nagwa.

After Abdul Salam kidnaps his daughter, he stipulates that Mito must get married to bring Hoda back to her. Shafiq divorces Fawzia for visiting Mito, but he takes her back. As Abdul Fattah is enraged when he sees Hashem getting close with Nagwa, he orders Aziza to prevent Hashem from visiting them.

Aziza tells Nagwa that she made her have a customary marriage with Abdul Fattah in order to pay off their debts. As Nagwa suffers from a nervous breakdown, Hashem treats her. Tariq tells Hashem that he's pretending to be silent because he can't face Aziza. Aziza plots to come between Hashem and Nagwa.

When Mito is transferred to a psychiatric hospital after taking sedatives, Hashem refuses to intervene. Hashem takes Nagwa to Madiha's house. Salem decides to marry Anayat to look after Mito. As Hashem asks Aziza for Nagwa's hand, she prevents Nagwa from talking to Hashem.

As a suitor proposes to Mito, she thinks about accepting so that Hoda returns to her. Mito is surprised when Hassan gets engaged to another, while she refuses to believe that her love for Hashem is obsessive. Hussam quarrels with Rawya over Mito's stay in their home because of her bad reputation.

Mito decides not to marry any man she does not love. Hashem discovers that Abdul Fattah is the one behind exposing him and Mito. As Nagwa returns to her mother’s house and lives with her sisters, she tells Aziz's first wife that he is married to another woman.

When Mito visits Hashem while Nagwa is at his home, he kicks her out. As Mito suffers a psychological crisis, Dr. Rehab treats her. As Taher quarrels with Aziza for taking advantage of Nagwa, he shoots her.

As Aziza dies, Nagwa suffers from a health problem and is treated by Hashem. Rehab concludes that Hashem is the one behind Mito's illness. As Rehab sees how bad Hashem's psychological state is, she asks him to go back to work after he resigns. Mito causes disturbance when she gets a knife at the clinic.

Hashem grieves over Nagwa's death. Mito's family supports her despite everything she did. As Hashem apologizes to Mito for his mistreatment, she doesn't respond to him. When Rehab brings Abdul Salam, Hoda, and Hesham to the hospital, Mito chooses her life with her family instead of Hashem.
