In the wake of a solo space mission, Molly's attempt to reassimilate to her normal life is derailed when she discovers that she is pregnant, an event that is supposed to be impossible on account of her infertility and her thirteen months in space by herself.

As Molly seeks to confirm that her baby is human, a fellow astronaut, Kryger, reveals a disturbing coverup that the International Space Exploration Agency (ISEA) is involved in.

As Sparks plot to gain control over Molly to observe her pregnancy, Molly starts to experience strange symptoms, leading to a confrontation with John.

Sparks blackmails Barton into cooperating with them. As John and Molly find refuge with the latter's father, Sparks uses Molly AI son, Ethan, to lure her into a trap.

With Sparks doing everything in his power to discredit Molly as delusional, including removing her fetus, one of Molly's coworkers helps her decode a video from her mission that reveals the validity of her claims.

As Ethan starts to evolve beyond his programming, Kryger provides information about a past space mission that went awry, proving a premeditated element to Sparks's actions with her and Kryger.

Kryger uses personal information to win Kern to their side. Molly's attempt to locate an astronaut from the past space mission ends in tragedy. More information is revealed about Sparks' intentions for the fetus.

With Molly determined to recover her fetus, Sparks goes against Yasumoto's warning about Molly's importance to the fetus, dubs the offspring, and tries to have her killed. Ethan continues to evolve in a manner that concerns John.

As Molly and Kryger's paths diverge due to opposing motivations, the offspring uses the image of Sparks's deceased daughter to gain control over Sparks.

John grows suspicious of Yasumoto's plans for his family. Odin tries to turn Ethan against his parents. Molly's encounter with the offspring stirs up traumatic memories for her.

Molly discovers the real motivations behind Yasumoto's plots. Kern puts Molly in touch with one of his contacts to help discern what happened to the Aruna. A shocking guest arrives at the Seraphim space station.

With the offspring pulling the strings both on Earth and on the Seraphim, Molly prepares to return to space to intercept the Seraphim. Julie learns the truth about Odin.

As Molly reaches the Seraphim and tries to foil te offspring's plans, Ethan is forced to make a sacrifice to save the world.
