When a cyber-security engineer is contacted by a mysterious figure to recruit him in starting a digital revolution, he finds his way into the ranks of fsociety as they collaborate to bring down a corrupt corporation.

As Elliot's addiction grows worse, Mr. Robot forces him to confront a familial conflict. Elliot makes a move to save one of his friends despite her own objections.

Elliot is lured back to fsociety after they reveal E Corp's involvement in his father's illness. Ollie is pressured to infect Allsafe with the CD. Allsafe's CEO becomes suspicious of Elliot.

Elliot comes up with a plan to destroy E Corp's data back-ups, but the trip to gain access is jeopardized when he starts hallucinating due to withdrawal. Darlene and Trenton plot to hack E Corp as Elliot enacts his plan.

When the Dark Army backs out on the idea of a simultaneous attack, fsoceity's plans are put on the line. Elliot's actions to protect Shayla come back to haunt him.

Elliot is blackmailed into helping Fernando Vera escape from prison. Angela attempts to help her father by suing E Corp for their role in her mother's death.

Angela makes a deal that jeopardizes Allsafe. Tyrell takes revenge on Sharon for putting him in a tight spot with Scott. Darlene and Mr. Robot arrange a meeting with the leader of the Dark Army to bring fsociety back in business.

Elliot discovers the reason the Dark Army backed out of their shared plan. A shocking connection betwen Elliot and Mr. Robot is revealed, forcing Elliot to confront who he really is.

Elliot takes a trip down memory lane as he realizes the truth of what he has been doing with fsociety. Angela gets a surprising job offer.

As Elliot experiences another memory lapse, he comes back to a world changed by the success of fsociety's plans.
