Malak's lawyer Selim reveals that she has been under the care of a psychiatrist who diagnosed her with Schizophrenia. Malak shakes off her catatonia and starts talking in broken sentences.
As she goes through recurrent episodes of catatonia and disassociation, a medical committee determines that Malak has committed the crime during one of her episodes when she lacked awareness of her reality. She is to be committed to a mental institution.
After being committed to Al-Abbaseya, Malak questions if she had really killed her husband and sister. Selim confirms the incident but asserts that her commitment is for recovery purposes only. Malak's son Adam grows reserved and aggressive.

Adam returns home. Malak reveals to Waleed that Selim is the one who killed her husband and sister after he convinced her that they were having an affair.
