After a police officer and his sister-in-law are found murdered, a catatonic Malak is accused of the murder after being found sitting by the murder weapon. She is referred to a mental institution for assessment.

Malak's lawyer Selim reveals that she has been under the care of a psychiatrist who diagnosed her with Schizophrenia. Malak shakes off her catatonia and starts talking in broken sentences.

As she goes through recurrent episodes of catatonia and disassociation, a medical committee determines that Malak has committed the crime during one of her episodes when she lacked awareness of her reality. She is to be committed to a mental institution.

After being committed to Al-Abbaseya, Malak questions if she had really killed her husband and sister. Selim confirms the incident but asserts that her commitment is for recovery purposes only. Malak's son Adam grows reserved and aggressive.

As Adam becomes difficult, his grandmother Seham agrees to let him see his mother. Malak is haunted by auditory hallucinations.

A psychiatrist goes with Malak through her memories. Selim bonds with Adam. Seham's estranged sister Nehal comes home after learning about what happened.

Malak's psychiatrist decides to expose her to electric shock therapy as she continues to question whether she committed the murder or not. Selim recalls some memories that make him suspect Nada's infidelity.

After Seham clashes with Nehal, she sends Adam to live with his paternal aunt Ola. Malak starts to improve but one of her doctors objects to her release.

Malak relapses after a visit from her mother. Seham gets diagnosed with Obsessive-Compulsive disorder.

As Malak's visual and auditory hallucinations increase, she tries to kill another patient thinking she was her mother. She starts to have flashes of the murder.

Adam takes to living with his aunt until her husband worries about Adam living with his daughter in the same house. Seham's psychiatrist distrusts Selim's intentions after he expresses his desire to have Malak transferred to a private hospital.

Selim and Seham arrange for Malak to be transferred to a private facility. Seham and Nehal's relationship improves and Adam visits his grandmother.

Waleed, Malak's new doctor, decides to make her case the subject of his dissertation. Malak's nurse switches her medicine.

Initially refusing to let Adam visit his mother, Ola agrees to let him go. Seham improves as Selim threatens to crumple under pressure.

After Malak's condition is made worse by a new medication, she voices her concerns to Waleed.

Radwa tells Selim that she is afraid of him and confronts him about his paranoia. Waleed confronts Magdy about the change in Malak's medication and her worsening condition.

Adam questions Waleed about mental illness. Seham tries to get close to Malak. Waleed decides on his dissertation. Roaa's mother is aggravated when she finds her daughter sitting with Hossam.

Seham falls for her sewing instructor who proposes to her. Malak starts group therapy. Seham discovers that Selim didn't tell his family about Nada's murder.

The hospital arranges a field trip for its patients as Roaa's mother scolds her for seeing Hossam. Malak fights with Roaa's mother.

Roaa escapes with Hossam but she suffers a relapse due to the lack of medication. Hossam enlists Waleed's help.

Roaa asks to see her father. Shadi is released to his parents' custody. Radwa clashes with Selim over a deal he didn't tell her about.

Shadi relapses and returns to the hospital. Waleed is terrified when he finds out about his impending fatherhood. The sewing instructor tries to convince Seham to marry him.

Roaa gets engaged to Hossam after her parents fight over the relationship. Malak inadvertently reveals her husband's infidelity to Adam, who questions Seham on how his father and aunt died together.

Adam discovers the truth. Malak's condition worsens.

After learning from social media that his mother killed his father, Adam runs away and asks Hamoda to find him a job. Malak leaves the hospital to join the search for him.

Adam meets Farouk who offers him a job at his cafe. Selim and Malak try to find Adam.

Radwa and Selim help Malak look for Adam. Waleed discovers that Magdy has been giving Malak hallucinogens that impede her memory.

Waleed discovers that Selim is the one who got Madgy to give Malak hallucinogens. He plots with Nehal to meet up with Selim and learns that he is paranoid. Farouk begins to suspect that Adam is lying to him.

Adam runs after Farouk tries to get him to return to his family, only to be mugged. Malak remembers that she used to like her brother-in-law Selim.

Adam returns home. Malak reveals to Waleed that Selim is the one who killed her husband and sister after he convinced her that they were having an affair.
