Detective Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) is talented but immature and doesn't follow orders, he comes into conflict with his new commanding officer named Ray Holt (Andre Braugher) who believes in rules and regulations, unlike Jake and his colleagues.


In season 2, Jack Peralta succeeds in a seizure operation that results in the arrest of several people, and Jake and Boyle's friendship is exposed to a new test after Jack faces a difficult situation.


In the third season, Jack and Amy decide to take their relationship to the next level, while Rosa and Marcus's lives take a dramatic turn when she breaks up with him and decides to get involved with Adrian. However, their lives are soon threatened when Adrian receives death threats.


In season 4, Jake and Holt are trying to adapt to their new lives while they are living under fake identities to protect them from death threats, and the team is trying to help them.


In season, Jake and Rosa adapt to their new life behind prison bars, while all their colleagues from the 99th precinct try to prove their innocence.


Holt loses his job and falls into a deep depression. Jake and Amy try to encourage him to stand up to Kelly's reactionary policies. Meanwhile, Jenny quits her job to look for a better place that suits her abilities and talents.


As Holt works through his feelings towards his demotion, an unexpected tragedy turns things back in his favor. Amy and Jake start a new chapter together as they prepare to have a child.


In the final season, the series continues to focus on the lives of a group of police officers, as the team comes together for a final farewell adventure, with many crimes spreading in the city.
