Mourad tells his wife Azza that he has decided to leave London and return to Egypt with their daughters. As he loses his fortune in the stock exchange, he keeps the news from his family. Azza gets angry when Sally informs her that she wants to go to the US with her boyfriend Hesham.

Mourad quarrels with Samira and slaps her for hanging out with young men. He also quarrels with Sally. Mourad soon passes away after a health crisis, leaving his grief-stricken family to return to Egypt with his body for the burial.

As the family arrives at Mourad's village, a funeral is held. Azza informs Shohdy of her wish to demolish Mourad's old house to start a project on the land. The girls are shocked when they learn that they can't return to London..

The girls discover the cultural gap between them and the farmers. Ali asks Shohdy for Zeinab's hand in marriage, but Shohdy berates and rejects him due to his poverty, leaving Zeinab devastated. When Sally tells her uncle that Zeinab wants to wed Ali, Shohdy quarrels with his family.

As Azza and her daughters arrive at their apartment in Haram Street, Mahmoud visits them and tells them about Mourad's bankruptcy. Sally meets the mysterious Mostafa who offers her a job, but Azza grows suspicious of him.

Shohdy opposes Mahmoud and Azza's frequent outings. Sally and Mostafa get close. When her husband Mowafy faces a financial crisis, Horiya helps him overcome it. Mahmoud confesses his feelings for Azza and proposes to her.

Azza's girls object to their mother's relationship with Mahmoud. Mowafy asks Azza to partner up with him on a project. As Mostafa proposes to Sally, they are surprised when a woman interrupts their outing; claiming to be Mostafa's wife, Zizi harshly demeans Sally.

Mostafa tries to meet Azza and Sally. Zizi visits Azza and informs her that Mostafa's wealth comes from her own properties. It's revealed that Samira has terminal cancer and has only three months to live. On Samira's request, Azza takes her daughters back to the village, where Mahmoud visits them.

Sally and Samira meet Dr. Nadim. Mowafy brings a potential buyer for Azza's land, but Shohdy informs him that she disapproves of his offer. Nadim decides to run for elections.

Shohdy informs Mahmoud of his objection to his frequent visits to Azza's house. Shohdy approves Zeinab's marriage to the mayor's son, prompting Ali to wed her behind her father's back. However, he soon tells Shohdy that he won't go through with the marriage without his blessing and divorces her.

Shohdy wins the elections. Nadim gives Isma'il money to work for him. Nadim congratulates Shohdy on his triumph. Sally offers Nadim a new project for them to partner up on. Nadim proposes to Sally.

Sally and Nadim go on a trip after their marriage, but they end up running into Hesham, who came to Egypt looking for Sally. As Nadim quarrels with Sally, she ends up asking for a divorce after he beats her. Shohdy dies of a snake bite.

It's revealed that Isma'il killed Shohdy on Nadim's request. When Nadim denies his involvement, Isma'il kills him then commits suicide. Hesham proposes to Sally, but she refuses him. As she recognizes her feelings for her cousin Fahmy, she decides to wed him and reside in the village.
