Salma spends the night with her friend Ingie, only to find out that the place is haunted. She overdoses on drugs and afterwards she sees a ghost. Believing her to have gone mad, her father sends her to a secret asylum where she regains consciousness.
Hassan visits the asylum and examines the patients. He promises Salma to stand by her, and he calls the police. General Gaber starts an investigation, and learns that patients there have electroshock therapy.
Sherif discovers that Mazen is alive, and he decides to use him and make him feign having feelings for Salma, but Mazen reveals this plot to Salma. Salma then knows that Gaber is oddly sick, and they were trapped in an intricate game.
After conversing with some patients, Mazen soon believes Awatef's account. Mariam tells Hassan that she dreamt of him, and he feels guilty for treating Salma unfairly, so he discloses to her that he and Awatef plotted together against her.
Salma starts reading the investigations Gaber wrote, starting with the story of Morad and his daughter's involvement with a man called Rami, and moving to the story of Mosaad and Batta the dancer.
Batta fired Mosaad, and to avenge, he agreed with a girl who works for Batta to deceive her into believing that a curse has been cast upon her. The girl tells Batta the truth. Batta's confessions end, and Hassan takes the written confessions to photocopy them.
Awatef meets Salma at Suzanne's house, and Salma claims to be a journalist. Unbelieving this, Awatef orders Shawqy to take Salma to electroshock therapy. It turns out that Awatef has read Salma's confessions.
It becomes clear that Sherif incited Mazen to deceive Salma. Awatef confronts Rabab with the fact that she cheated on her husband with Akram. Meanwhile, Salma continues reading the patients' story till she reaches Youssef's, and she learns that Morad was imprisoned next.
Mariam resumes reading, and it is now learned that Amira schemed with the servants to testify against her father, and Youssef was in love with Mariam. Mariam discloses to Mazen what she has been reading.
Salma tries to get Mazen to publish the stories. Inside the asylum, violent plots have been surging as Batta attempts to murder Awatef, but Awatef is saved after Hassan intervenes in the right time.
Salma is trying to enrich the book of stories, so she asks Suzzanne to tell her hers, and she asks Batta to resume her story.
As the stories resume, Ingie threatens Mazen to inform Salma of his agreement with her stepmother, and Salma overhears Hassan's conversation with Awatef.
Ingie advises Mazen to confess everything to the State Security officer, and Hassan suddenly gets in and hits Ingie. Salma is trying to get Hassan to tell her what this asylum actually is, and failing to convince him, she resumes reading Yussef's story with Faten.
What Salma reads in the confessions matches what she hears Youssef admitting: he shot Faten's lover in the arm. Gaber confesses to Salma that he tortured Youssef and other prisoners indeed. Wafeeq asks Awatef to allow a friend of Salma to visit her.
Gaber recounts his story with Youssef to Salma, and informs her that he used to be so cruel with his family that his wife suffered a lot, and their son inherited his cruelty, and maybe that's why he still sees his wife's ghost.
Now that they have a record of the conversations, Ingie and Salma hear Suzanne's story with acting. Meanwhile, Youssef accuses Awatef of stealing his diaries, and threatens her saying he remembers everything.
As she hears her story, Salma learns that Suzanne's mother didn't approve of her daughter's pursuit for a career in acting, that Suzanne actually helped Marim when she was but a junior journalist, and that she met Morad El-Alfy who actually proposed to her.
The two stories of Suzanne and Morad interrelate in a violent and bloody frame.
Hassan tells Salma that he is fully aware of what she is doing, she is not ill, and he loves her. Meanwhile, Awatef instructs that the prisoners be given a new medication. Mariam recounts to Salma her story with Youssef.
Youssef is narrating to Hassan his story with Mariam who was forced to marry a merchant 20 years older than her, and how her parents sent Youssef to prison. After he got out, Youssef learned that he has a son, Khaled.
The revolution breaks out, and the prisoners escape. Morad heads to his villa to find his daughter's lover there. Violence persists as Heshkel and a group of gangsters surprisingly appear, and Farouk tries to murder Gaber.
Mazen and Ingie are trying to get a full portrayal of Batta and Mosaad's story, but they face some difficulties in doing so as Shawqia refuses to meet them.
Mokhtar is seeking to take revenge on both Fatma, who stole secretive documents from him, and Gaber, whose son tried to kill Mokhtar.
Mariam tells Salma that she attempted suicide, and her husband took her to the tombs, but she survived. Later she lost consciousness and the next thing she knows is that she woke up at Talaa'ts mansion.
Mariam tells Talaat that Sayed was purposely murdered. Talaat rewards her and finds a newspaper for her to head. However, Mariam loses interest since people now pay her to not expose evil and evildoers. Suzanne's story is more violent than Mariam's.
As a kind of atonement, Mariam takes Suzanne to Talaat's hospital, and it turns out that Awatef is Talaat' wife, and he hit her because he thought she was the one who sent the journalists to Noosa.
Prisoners get out of their rooms, and they encounter one another. Salma now believes that Sherif and Mariam are her real parents.
More violent plots are schemed and more secrets are revealed; we learn that Hassan was hired by Awatef and Talaat to work in the mansion, Talaat intends to kill Awatef and the prisoners, and Hassan confronts Salma that he knows she leaked the prisoners' stories.
Inside the mansion, Mariam learns that Salma is her daughter. Outside the mansion, Mazen is hosted in a TV program and he reveals all about the mansion. Talaat is murdered, and Awatef overdoses on many drugs.
The police come to the asylum, and all lovers and family members are reunited, and they ask the Major to leave Hassan with them, and to allow them all to stay together in the mansion.
