Las'ad experiences a huge loss when his boat sinks, especially as he bought it with the money his mother got from selling the house. As Las'ad tells Uncle Bashir about how Makhlouf rebuffed him when he tried to ask for Amira's hand, Uncle Bashir encourages him to start over.
As Faysal asks to marry Kawthar in 20 days, she and her mother try to figure out what to do since Las'ad had pawned Kawthar's golden jewelry to buy the boat. As Mansour flirts with the maid, he asks his son, Makhlouf, to take care because Al-Edoudy wants to take revenge on him.
When Faysal visits Kawthar's house to set a date for the marriage, Las'ad asks him to postpone the marriage since he pawned his sister's jewelry. As Las'ad tries to send Amira a message with Nagat, Nagat gives the letter to Mansour.
Even though Las'ad brings the jewelry back, Faysal's mother quarrels with Kawthar and breaks off the engagement. As Amira discovers that Nagat has been making advances on her father, she tells Makhlouf, who slaps Nagat. As Mansour suffers a heart attack, he gets rushed to the hospital for surgery.
Mansour's condition deteriorates after surgery. As Amira donates blood for her father, Makhlouf refuses to share the reason behind their father's illness with his sister. Nawal enlists Las'ad's help when her father sells the house and kicks her out. Las'ad borrows money from the Hajj to fix his boat.
When Las'ad learns that he must pay the Hajj back double the amount he borrowed from him, he refuses to take the money. When Nawal gives him the money he needs, he decides to marry her, but his mother objects since Nawal is a divorced mother. Las'ad refuses Nagy's request to marry his sister.
Nawal's father, Farag, passes away. When Mansour decides to marry Nagat, Amira gets angry. Mansour quarrels with Makhlouf after the latter meets Al-Edoudy. Nagy asks for Kawthar's hand again.
When Kawthar agrees to marry Nagy while Las'ad is out at sea, the furious Las'ad decides to leave the house. As Mansour marries Nagat, Makhlouf refuses to attend the wedding and admonishes Amira for attending. Al-Tegany plots with Nagat to rob Mansour.
Kawthar marries Nagy. Las'ad gets admitted to the hospital after a health crisis. As Al-Edoudy runs away, Makhlouf follows him and asks him to reveal the secret that his father is hiding. Nagat and Al-Tegany plot to uncover Al-Edoudy's secret.
Al-Edoudy recounts his tale to Makhlouf, telling him that he used to work for Mansour until he was imprisoned, but when he was released, he discovered that his wife had given their infant son to Mansour, who claimed the boy as his. Al-Edoudy accidentally killed his wife in a fight and was imprisoned.
Makhlouf and Amira receive Las'ad warmly when Mansour invites him to lunch. As Kawthar and her husband return from their honeymoon, Kawthar soon tires of raising her step-children. When Al-Edoudy gets released from the hospital, he tries to meet Mansour and reconcile with him.
As Kawthar quarrels with her husband, she asks him to take his children to their mother. Las'ad returns Nawal's money but evades marrying her. When Amira gets engaged to a businessman, Las'ad is saddened. Makhlouf starts an affair with Las'ad's sister.
Las'ad starts working with the businessman Khaled, who quickly earns his respect. Kawthar asks for a divorce after Nagy manipulates her and seizes the house from her. As Nagat gives birth, Mansour removes Makhlouf from his position as manager and tries to replace him with Amira.
When Al-Tegany informs Qais that Mansour wrote everything over to Nagat and her infant son, Qais asks Amira to interdict her father. As Al-Tegany tells Nagat that Mansour will write everything over to Amira, Mansour overhears them and realizes that Nagat married him for his money.
As Mansour finds out the truth, Nagat quarrels with him and asks for a divorce after she gets the house and a share in the factory. As she plots with Al-Tegany to claim that her son is actually his, Mansour exposes his lie. Makhlouf reconciles with Mansour. Las'ad marries his partner's daughter.
