A murder occurs in the village, upsetting the village headman, Al-Asfouri. The investigator attempts to question Sheikha Al-Akhras, but Lawahiz seizes the opportunity and tells her husband, Mustafa, nicknamed "Ghurab" (Crow), that this is their chance to eliminate the Al-Asfouri family so he can become the village headman. Lawahiz takes Sheikha with her to the zar ceremony she used to attend for fertility. But events take a dramatic turn.
