Keshav is a young man living with his parents in a rural Indian village with the cultural practice of women’s open defecation and no home toilets. Jaya is a young woman who is starting her college education, and when she marries Keshav, their problems arise as she cannot live in such insanitary and undignified conditions. She files for a divorce so the government intervenes to save many marriages.
