Taking place in the city of Samarkand in the year 91 AH, in a struggle for power, a time of worshiping fire and polytheism, Wardshan is angry at the Muslims because she rejects the tribute imposed by them, while Rustom attempts to cooperate with Kharzad to expel the Muslims from Samarkand.
