Valerie Cherish begins a new phase in her television career by agreeing to appear in a reality show in an attempt to get a role in the new sitcom, Room and Bored.

Valerie, Mickey, and the cast of Room and Bored fly to New York for a network event where new series are introduced to the press. Valerie begins to feel undervalued by the cast and the network.

Valerie treats her co-stars to lunch, but Juna does not come. Later, the two bury the hatchet and have lunch together, during which Valerie discovers why the paparazzi stalk Juna everywhere.

Valerie enlists the help of a new writer, Gigi, to come up with a less-offensive phrase after she becomes concerned that Paulie G. has penned an unpleasant line that would impact Aunt Sassy's appeal to the viewers. Moreover, Valerie reconsiders her rash choice to adopt a puppy.

The network tries to spice up Valerie's reality show, but the constant presence of cameras irritates Mark, Valerie's supportive husband.

Valerie finds out that the writers are pantomiming a filthy act to reveal secrets about her personal life. Mickey accuses Valerie of disclosing personal information about him to Juna.

As Valerie is excited about a Room and Bored episode devoted to her character, she tries to get a famous actor to portray Aunt Sassy's love interest, but the network pauses shooting before the episode can be broadcast.

Valerie and Mark travel to Palm Springs for a long weekend at a hotel. While playing golf, Valerie runs into an old friend.

Two new cast members join Room and Bored at the network's request. Valerie, on the other hand, spends time with Franchesca and her horrible little companions.

As Juna receives all of the attention and appears on all of the magazine covers, Valerie hires Billy Stanton to help her, whereupon Billy lands her a photo shoot for Be Yoga magazine, prompting Valerie to renovate her gym and attend yoga classes.

Valerie gets a new dress and a fresh style for the People's Choice Award event after Room and Bored gets a nomination. Valerie invites Gigi when she explains that the producers didn't send her an invitation. Billy forces Valerie to take a photo with Juna on the red carpet.

Jane goes against Tom and Paulie G. so that Valerie can have more lines on Room and Bored. A stalker causes Valerie's old back issues to be exposed. Valerie and Paulie G. come to brawls.

Valerie organizes a watch party for The Comeback's debut and learns that the show has been modified to present her inappropriately. She leaves the show after an altercation with Jane, but then appears with Jay Leno and decides to join the second season due to positive audience reception.
