In 1935, English lady Louisa Durrell decides to move from Bournemouth to the Greek island of Corfu. Her husband died a few years ago and she faced many financial problems afterwards. Once she announces the decision to her four children, a massive battle erupts within the family.
The story of Louisa Durrell and her family continues, as Louisa faces financial difficulty, she tries to raise money at market and she catches the eye of an Englishman. Gerry devises a plan to breed otters, while Leslie shoots Roger by accident.
In the third season of the series, Aunt Hermione visits the Durrells, and Louisa, after her long interactions with various London bohemian artists, feels more at home on the island.
