After ending his relationship with his girlfriend, Adam wants to go to the pub with his best friend Pete Gifford, who decides to take Adam to his house, which upsets Pete's wife.

Jenny's due date is approaching and Pete is feeling overly excited. Adam thinks of moving in with Rachel while David decides to invest in golf.

David decides to confess to Adam that he's not an expert in intimacy, so Adam decides to help him. Karen rejects the idea of having a child with David.

With Karen back to work, she works on editing Alex Welch's new novel. She later receives an invitation from Alex to attend a book signing event in Liverpool.

The relationship between David, who wants a child, and Karen deteriorates. Rachel tells Adam that he's like a sad old man, which increases tension between them. Pete and Jenny discover that their social lives have been falling apart since they had their baby.

David and Karen go to a counselor to solve their problems, and he advises them to overcome their differences and return to the feelings of the beginning of their relationship.

Karen and David decide to invite everyone to a charity dinner. Jenny feels like she doesn't belong among her friends. Meanwhile, Rachel discovers that she is one month pregnant, but everything falls apart when Rachel tells her boyfriend Adam that the baby might be Kris's.
