After ending his relationship with his girlfriend, Adam wants to go to the pub with his best friend Pete Gifford, who decides to take Adam to his house, which upsets Pete's wife.
Jenny's due date is approaching and Pete is feeling overly excited. Adam thinks of moving in with Rachel while David decides to invest in golf.

With Karen back to work, she works on editing Alex Welch's new novel. She later receives an invitation from Alex to attend a book signing event in Liverpool.
