Brian stumbles upon a magical amulet which takes him to Munty, a strange land occupied by weird people. Before he can use it to return home, the amulet is sold to a criminal mastermind.

Howell has created a charisma potion that can charm people into giving a person whatever they want, which Brian could use to get the amulet back and return home.

After losing hope to get the amulet back, Brian finds another way to return home when he's granted a wish by a fire sprite. However, he is torn as he is beginning to enjoy his stay in Munty.
