Nadra reads a letter to Khadija from her son Yusuf who tells her that he is on his way back from his medical trip abroad. In the present time, Salma is a journalist who asks Yusuf, the grandson of the palace owners, when the palace will be demolished.
Ali Bahr tells Asdaf that he loves her, in spite of being in love with Nadra.
Ali Bahr asks Khadija for Nadra's hand, but she refuses. Khadija asks Yusuf to kick Nadra out but he can not. Yusuf gives Nadra a book.
Nadra sits with Yusuf who reads to her excerpts from books and they agree to write each other letters as if he is abroad.
Salma tells her father that she likes Yusuf. Yusuf takes Nadra on a trip to the sea and they get delayed in the protests of the 1919 revolution.
Khadija tries to convince Yusuf to get married but he only sees Nadra.
Zakria sees Yusuf with his daughter, Nadra, and tells him to stay away from her.
Khadija catches Yusuf trying to kiss Nadra and tells Nadra and Zakria to leave and go back to their hometown. Al-Bosaty wins 100 pounds in the lottery and decides to open a nightclub with Ali Bahr and Asdaf.
Zakria and Nadra go back to their small town. Zakria agrees to wed Nadra to one of the neighbors' son.
Khadija makes Yusuf marry another girl but he grows sad. Al-Bostay and Ali Bahr try to convince Asdaf to act in their play and she agrees.
Ten years later, Johnny Mansour continues to write the history of Alexandria. Nadra is a mother of two daughters, and Yusuf does not have any kids.
Yusuf is sent to the town where Nadra lives to contain an epidemic and finds that her family is the only one that survived.
Nadra's husband dies, and Yusuf asks Zakria to marry Nadra but she refuses.
Asdaf has an affair with Ihsan, who is married. She tells him that she is pregnant but he does not believe her.
Al-Bostay and Asdaf get married. Yusuf sends a letter to Nadra, telling her that his feelings have not changed.
Asdaf gives birth to a son named Samir. Al-Bosaty is worried that Ali Bahr's success might affect their show.
Yusuf divorces his wife. Nadra tells her daughters about her memories in the palace.
Nadra is forced to live with Hilawy. Johnny Mansour converts to Islam to marry a girl he met. Al-Bosaty reconciles with Ali Bahr. Yusuf writes a play for them.
Yusuf reconciles with his mother and she tells him that she wishes to have grandchildren.
Hilawy divorces Nadra and she tells her father that she is pregnant. Asdaf asks for a divorce.
Asdaf forgives Ihsan before he passes away. Yusuf is sick and his mother goes to Nadra to help him.
Asdaf marries Farah and Al-Bostay is worried that he might lose his theater. Nadra goes to see Yusuf in the palace.
Yusuf dies and Khadija tells Nadra that they will tell everyone that she is pregnant with Yusuf's baby. Nadra gives birth and she names him Yusuf.
Ali Bahr proposes to Nadra again but she declines. Yusuf grows up and he likes to play with Wasfa, who is a mute girl. Nadra's father passes away.
Ali Bahr wants to get married but the girl is too young for him.
Asdaf wants to retire after Farah dies. The monarchy era ends and Khadija hides her valuables and tells Nadra where they are.
Al-Bostay dies after going bankrupt. Years pass and Yusuf marries Wasfa against his mother's wishes and has a son.
Asdaf agrees to marry Ali Bahr. Yusuf dies in an accident while fixing the TV antenna on the roof of the palace.
Yusuf tells Salma about Khadija and how she used to accuse Nadra of stealing. Khadija starts to talk to her dead son and Nadra passes away.
Khadija passes away and the palace turns into a Palace of the Arts. On its opening day, Gamal, Johnny Mansour's grandson, goes to the palace with an explosive belt and plans to blow up the church behind the palace with Al-Zahar's grandson.
