Sallah Shabati, a Mizrahi Jewish immigrant, travels from Yemen to Israel with his family. Upon their arrival, they are taken to the camp and given a dreadful one-room tin house, where the entire family sleeps. Shabati looks for numerous ways to get money in order to buy a better house.
