A Belgian movie star, Stefan, commits suicide in his Brussels’ apartment right before starring in a big American film. A year later, his American widow, Katherine, returns to Brussels as her ill mother’s doctors put her in a “sleep state” of a coma. Katherine’s feelings of pain and guilt spark memories which she puts in the right frame of mind, and follows clues to understand Stefan’s suicide.
