When Nurse Cath Hardacre kicks up a fuss about the poorly-run hospital she works in, the backlash leaves her in dire straits. She seeks a new job opportunity in Edinburgh but takes on the identity of her doctor friend to land the job.

Cath's web of lies threatens to unravel when the hospital asks for her passport. To make it worse, her new love interest Andy runs into someone who knows the real Ally.

With Andy aware of Cath's secret, he has a difficult decision to make as he contends with the truth on both a personal and a professional level. Cath discovers an incriminating secret about Brigitte that forces her to reexamine her own lie.
