Having put up her baby for adoption as a teenager, Linda runs into Martin, who claims to be the son she gave up many years ago. As she finds in Martin's company consolation for her unhappy marriage to Henry, a cheating doctor who's obsessed with model trains, Martin soon starts becoming violent and developing intense feelings of hatred towards Henry.
